Ciao a tutti,
il contesto della traduzione riguarda la chiesa protestante americana. Nella fattispecie il figlio di un pastore sta descrivendo la partecipazione dell'intera famiglia alle funzioni domenicali. La frase completa é questa:


"The whole family was involved in church one way or another, holding offices, singing in the choir, serving on the usher board or other committees."

Come tradurreste "Holding offices"?

Il mio tentativo sarebbe "ricoprire delle cariche durante la funzione", ma non ne sono sicura. Altri suggerimenti?

"Officiare le funzioni"? Forse è troppo cattolico, non saprei.

Secondo me potresti tradurre semplicemente “ricoprendo cariche “, senza specificare “durante la funzione “.

Seeing that lesser positions like "serving on the usher board or other committees" are covered elsewhere in the sentence, I suspect these are probably the kinds of "offices" being referred to. How to put this in Italian, I don't know.
