I can't figure how i should say this in French.

Would you say "hosting a party" or "having a party".

Anyhow, please help me translate this into French, whichever is more appropriate. thanks!

merci bien. So would this be correct if i said this:

De plus, chaque année la capitale de BD, Angoûleme, célèbre les accomplissements de les dessinateurs, maquettistes, traducteur, etc en organise le Festival international de la BD d’Angoûleme.

    Très bien ! :)
    Quelques corrections mineures :

... la capitale de la BD ... (on dit toujours la BD)
... célèbre les oeuvres des ... (de les => des)
... en organisant ... (en + participe présent)

May I ask a corollary? How would I say, "Tonight we (our group) are (is) having (hosting) an Ice Cream Social..."? (That is a party where bowls of ice cream, and other desserts made with ice cream - sundaes, banana splits, floats, etc - only, are served as a theme around which strangers are encouraged to meet others.)

Ce soir, nous avons une soirée des Crème Glacée... ?
