Hi,

I was wondering how you say the following:

"How do you know how much money I have?"

my poor attempt:

"comment est-ce que tu sais combien argent que j'ai?"

I never feel like i can use natural phrasing, I always end up transliterating...

Thanks a lot!

A little context would help !

Maybe "Comment tu sais combien j'ai d'argent?". But again, without context, it i sa bit difficult to be a 100% sure ;)

oh ok, well it's just in response to someone asking, "how are you so rich?"

But i think your translation is just right. I was considering putting j'ai first because it sounded strange on the end but i wasn't sure... and i was totally guessing about putting est-ce que in there. Is it non-sensical, or just strange?

Your initial sentence is not really idiomatic...
    You could also say
"comment est-ce que tu sais ce que j'ai comme argent?"

Maybe, if the discussion is not formal, you could have :

"Comment ça se fait que tu sois si riche?"
"Qu'est-ce que t'en sais, ce que j'ai comme argent ?"
