How to describe describe when two people are mutually attracted but not yet in relationship?

If A and B are mutually attracted, their intimacy is already above friendship, but they still haven't became partners yet.

So they are in between friendship and romantic relationship.

Is there any idiom / informal expression we can use for daily use in English conversation?

Thank you for any suggestion.

You could say that they hit it off, although this means that they became friends or felt attracted to one another when they first met.

Could you give us a sentence in order to describe more what you are thinking of?

What is that american romcom? 'He's just not that into you'.
Not one I have heard this side of the pond.
Slightly archaic, but to be sweet on someone.
