how to do with

A: You should've asked me to stop spending so much money on my ex-girlfriend.
B: I thought it was impolite to tell others how to do with their money especially considering we have different cultures.
I wrote this dialogue.
I have two questions about B's words.
1. Is it correct to use 'how' in the context? Or should I say 'what'?
2. Can you please suggest another better phrase to replace 'do with'? deal with? cope with? I can't find one.
Thank you
