How to read this number (reading exponent)

In previous thread, I found 10(superscript5) is read as ten to the five.

How about ten to the fifth?
or ten to the fifth power?

it should be read just as you have suggested. I myself have never used "ten to the five".

Ten to the five could well have been my suggestion.

Generically, I read X superscript Y as X to the Y. In a world where such usage is a routine element of everyday conversation, a specific example such as ten superscript five is an exception. But the generic rule is applied, whatever better, more grammatical alternatives there might be. Hence ten to the five.

I would always say "ten to the fifth" as a shortening of "ten to the fifth power."
