Stuart started his relationship with Howard's mother as her caretaker employed by Howard. Now Stuart is on a date with Howard's cousin.

Scene: in a limo.
Bernadette: Howie, get off of him (Stuart).
Howard: Not until he stops humping his way up my family tree.

What does it mean? Is it slang? Is it common? I don't think dictionaries give definitions that fit in.

Humping is having sex with ... and a baby that's a result of that experience would be in Howard's family tree in a distant sort of way.

It's in our dictionary: hump: (vulgar). to have sexual intercourse (with).
