I’ll just hang on to your ears

Ciao a tutti,
sto traducendo un testo dall'inglese che contiene molti giochi di parole e battute umoristiche.
Uno di questi è una barzelletta:

‘Would you like a bridal suite?’ a young man asks his bride-to-be while planning their honeymoon, to which she replies, ‘No thanks, I’ll just hang on to your ears.’

Dovrebbe essere una battuta, ma non capisco il senso.

Grazie mille in anticipo per le eventuali delucidazioni :)

  • The translation would present some problems as there is a double play on words: bridal / bridle (briglia) and suite / sweet (term of endearment like amore, tesoro, etc.

("Would you like a bridle, sweet?")

You're not the only one! I got the bridal/bridle bit but needed John to point out the suite/sweet part (since it's usually sweetie or sweetheart). Quite a stretch as far as puns go. And this is just the honeymoon...

Thankyou everybody, especially johngiovanni who clarified the homophones.
I guess I have to change the line completely, since it's almost impossible to have a good rendition in italian.
