Hi.

Please imagine somebody who is a film director and writer.
He has talent for both film making and writing.
But he think the job as a film director is more important to him and he believes his fundamental philosophy is suitable for film making better.

Asked what his job is, he answered, "I am fundamentally a film director."

"I am fundamentally a film director" is a natural expression?
Do you often hear phrases similar to this?
