I can open my own door, thank you!

Hello. If you would like to tell someone that they don't need to open the door for you because you can do it yourself (for whatever reason you simply wouldn't like their gesture), would you say "I can open my own door" or "I can open the door myself"? Thank you.

    It would only really make sense to say “my own door” if it was indeed your own door – the door to your house, office or whatever.

    For that reason, “I can open the door myself” is better.

    It would only really make sense to say “my own door” if it was indeed your own door – the door to your house, office or whatever.
    It also applies to getting out of the car to open the door next to another person in the car.

    Depending on your relationship, this may come across as rude (especially with "thank you" added) as the other person was likely only trying to be polite or friendly.
