I could get to that point

< Previous | Next >

A family of superheroes is being interviewed. The husband:
-- No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. I mean, sometimes I just want it to stay saved, you know? For a little bit. I feel like the maid. "I just cleaned up this mess! Can we keep it clean for...for 10 minutes?"
-- [the interviewer, laughing] I could get to that point.

The Incredibles, animation

Explain please what she meant by that. Thank you.

It's not perfectly clear. Presumably, the interviewer meant something like: if I were a superhero and experienced what you've described, I too would probably feel frustrated about having to clean up people's messes repeatedly.

In this case, get to that point would mean arrive at the metaphorical place where my patience had run out.
