I heard it on TV (Married with children). When the neighbor Steve was out of town his wife dreamed that Al was having sex with her and she got nausea when her husband was horny.
Steve said: I guess that's why they call it the blues

What does it mean?

Having the blues is just feeling down/depressed/unhappy.
"I guess that's why they call it the blues" is from a song
    From memory:
"And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my own, should be time spend with you,
Laughing like, children, living like lovers,
    under the covers,
and I guess that's why tthey call it the blues"

Why they actually call it the blues remains unclear!

    Thanks Mark1978,
So maybe Steve said this line from the song to express that he feels down?

Without having seen the programme I guess that sounds the most likely. However 'blue' can also refer to sexual situations so it's hard to say.
