Hi,

I have a landline at home but It's not mine . My flatmate doesn't want to keep it. So the line will be cut off. May I say that ? or Is there another word ?

Thank you,

claude.

You may, but I don't think it gives exactly the right idea. Generally "cut off" implies that the service will be shut down by the provider because of a problem with the user (usually if they don't pay the bills!)

If you say "my flatmate is cutting of the service" that is a bit clearer, but it might be even better to say "my flatmate is shutting down the line/closing her/his account"

I think it would be better to say "So she is closing the account/
