    You wouldn't use the if you're writing the date in that format.

    I look forward to seeing you on 27/02/216

    or

    I look forward to seeing you on February 27, 2016

    but

    I look forward to seeing you on the 27th of February, 2016

    I think that you'd only use the if you were starting with nth, but there might be a few others.
