Hi,

When I use "Word", I always change every other font to "Verdana" because I think it looks good. Is it idiomatic to say:

I prefer Verdana font.

Much appreciated!

What exactly is it that you are unsure of in this sentence?
I don't know if "Verdana font" is used by native speakers because "Verdana" is a type of font but I am not sure if "Verdana" or other types of fonts, when they're used, are usually used together. I meant the expression. Should it be "I prefer Verdana" or "I prefer Verdana font" or something totally different. Sorry if I haven't expressed myself clearly.

In that sentence I would include "the", since Verdana is one font.

    I prefer the Verdana font.

In some sentences "Verdana" is used without "font", if the meaning (a font) is clear.

Yes, it sounds odd to include the word “font”.
    - If the interlocutor knows what Verdana is, he or she knows it is a font.
    - If the interlocutor doesn’t knows what Verdana is, you have to explain.
I think "the Verdana font" is enough explanation for a reader to know that "Verdana" is a font.

That's all I know about Verdana: that it's a font.
