Is this sentence correct: "I was fined equal to weekly pay."? --Somehow, it doesn't sound very idiomatically to me, and what do you think? Do you think I need to add some word, like "amount" after "fined"?

Thanks a lot!

"I was fined a week's pay" would work to and perhaps sounds more natural.

If it's not exactly a week's pay and just coincidentally approximately the same, you could say "I was fined about a week's pay."
