Hello

Should I use the subjunctive here ("I was not sure if this was correct")?

I know that in "If this were correct, I would not be sure" I should use the subjunctive, but what about this other case? Should it be "I was not sure if this were correct"?

Thank you

    For example:

    - Why did you post that question?
    - Because I was not sure if this was correct, so I wanted to check it out.

I can't make sense of that.

We don't use a present subjunctive form or an irrealis past form after "not sure that/if".

I was not sure if this was correct. :tick:
I am not sure (that/if) this be correct.:cross:
I was not sure if this were correct.
Would any native speakers use this?
