"ibis horn"

In a book of mythic animals I found a phrase: "griffin claws... turned out to be ibis horns". Are these ibis's beaks or talons or something else completely? Thanks!

I suspect that whoever wrote this might have been mixing up ibis and ibex. Ibexes are known for their spectacular horns. Ibises are birds, and birds are not conventionally thought of as having horns.

Edit: Teddy seems to have had the same thought now.

Yes, it's "ibis horn" in the book, but we all make mistakes, so it's quite possible the author meant "ibex". Thanks! :)
