Bonjour,

I would like to know how to translate the iced treat of an ice cream float...

Its normally a cross between a drink & an ice cream. You have coke, root beer or sprite + vanilla ice cream in a large glass...

Merci d'avance pour vos suggestions et/ou conseils.

I believe that in Quebec this is called un flotteur. It's a North American specialty so I don't think it has a special name in Europe, however. They use coffee there rather than soda and call it un café liégois

    Thanx Isabelle & Wildan,

Actually I thought that chocolat liégois & its coffee equivalent were made with crème fraiche - or chantilly - not with vanilla crème glacée...

I am not looking for a Quebec equivalent - but this could be useful to somebody else.

I prefer Isabelle's choice - soda boule de glace seems a likely candidate for my menu.
