The tense is always confusing when I have to use conditional form. Is the form correct?

I believe that if I had leanred English when I was in middle school, I could not have improved my speaking and listening skills so easily as I did when I was young. ( I am trying to say that as I started learning English at an early age, I could improve my English faster and more easily than my classmates.)

  • Your usage seems good to me. "If I had learned English when I was in middle school, I could not have improved my speaking and listening skills as easily as I did when I was young."
