I wonder if I can combine type 3 conditional if clause with “would”. Let me give an example.

If I had won the lottery, I wouldn’t be working in this job.

it is like I want to refer to the past that I didn’t make it but also combined with the present, not “would+have+V3” as usual. Thank you 🙂

    Your sentence is quite normal.
    Examples:
    If she had been born in the United States, she wouldn't need a visa to work here.
    If he had won the lottery, he wouldn't be rich.

    Is it better to use was born instead of had been for the first example?

    If she had been born implies that she was not born in the US.
    If she was born leaves open the question of whether or not she was born in the US. I would then say she doesn't need a visa.
