Hi,

Please, help me to understand the meaning of the following sentence:

We would need you actual samples to quote against.
If I quote you on a like for like basis we will be accurate.

Is it correct?
What does "on a like" mean?

Thank you in advance :)

  • The phrase is "like for like", so the sentence reads: "If I quote you on a /like for like basis/ we will be accurate."

It means if the quotes I use are similar in nature (length, scope, content) to the quotes you have used, we will be accurate. That's my understanding of it, at least.
