Hi.
A grammar book of mine paraphrases sentence (1) below into "Whenever it rained, I went by car."
(1) If it rained, I went by car.
Question: Is sentence (2) interpreted as "Whenever it rained, I went on foot."?
(2) If it rained, I went on foot.
In my view, sentence (2) is grammatically and syntactically correct, and probably has the interpretation that "Whenever it rained, I went on foot."
Will you please tell me your opinions about sentence (2) and my view?
Thanks in advance.
