Watashiva Toriko? cindes...?

I am trying to say that "I'm from Turkey". But I think "Turkey" is not written like "Toriko" because I've typed it like this and the person that I was chatting, didn't understand it.

When I'm talking, Japanese people understand me but the writing is incorrect.

Please let me know the right way.

The Japanese name for the country Turkey is トルコ.
In romaji, it is "Toruko".

And then, rather : Watashi wa toruko jin desu , could also be -to introduce yourself orally but NOT on the net- : watashi wa Toruko kara kimashita (= I come /came from Turkey).
