impacts?

Dear teachers,

Would you please tell me the different impacts these sentences may have on the reader?

Compare:

'I insist he resign immediately.'

'He should resign immediately.'

'He must resign immediately.'

'He is to resign immediately.'

When would you use these expressioms? What 'weight' would you give to them?

Many thanks,
Hela

It is really important that he resign, and I am in a position to apply pressure on him to do so.

I think he should resign - simple expression of opinion.
