I have to translate to English:

"la producción final de cobre, cuya venta genera el Impuesto a la Renta,"

I understand that normally "impuesto de la renta" is "income tax," but in the US at least, that has the connotation of personal income tax rather than tax on the profits generated buy a corporation. Do you know what the correct term would be in English?

There is a problem here with the Spanish sentence as far as I see it. I believe the Spanish sentence is the translation (bad translation, BTW) of something writen in another language. What is writen in Spanish certainly does not make sense in the context given. If we take into account your explanation, I would suggest "revenue tax" or something like this...

Shrek2, I don't think it's a translation, where I am (Southern Peru) the terms are always used that way in speech and in print. I think you're right that it's revenue tax.

I agree with Shreck2, the sentence in Spanish is confusing. Anyway, the US equivalent to the "Impuesto a la Renta (corporativo)" is Corporate Tax, as is explained here.

La confusión puede venir de la palabra "cobre". Yo lo entiendo como el metal cuyo símbolo químico es Cu, y no como una conjugación del verbo "cobrar".

Estoy de acuerdo con los que han dicho "revenue tax".

Los que en los Estados Unidos cobran aquello cuyo símbolo químico es Ag, los voraces e insaciables hombrecillos de la IRS, los mismos que en los años treinta llevaron a la cárcel a Al Capone, los padres de la criatura, han querido que la misma se llamara “corporate income tax” (aquí, en el sitio de la IRS, lo llaman así).
“Endispué”, como decía un paisano de mi tierra, cada uno le puede llamar a la criatura como le venga en gracia, que para eso está la Primera Enmienda..
