What does it mean "in a cascade"? Here is the sentence: "A training programme and teacher guidelines will be developed parallel to the regional training courses for up to 21 adult educators who will train in a cascade between 80 and 100 trainers in adult education."

  • Literally, a cascade is like a waterfall. There is an implication that it moves down from level to level, sometimes branching off into subsidiary streams.

In this context, I suspect it means that the first 21 trainers will go on to train the next 100, who will then go on to train more people. The result will be an exponential supply of adult educators.
