Get Rate displays the HSBC exchange rate offered and mid-market rate in accordance with convention for the local market in which the paying account is held.

What does "in accordance with" mean? The HSBC exchange rate in accordance with convention or the mid-market rate in accordance with convention? or both in accordance with convention?

I read this as the app displays two rates.

    One is the HSBC rate.

The other is the midmarket rate that is calculated in accordance with convention (presumably according to some standard calculation) for your local market.

Presumably this lets you compare rates.

How they actually calculate the midmarket rate, I have no idea. This text makes about as much sense as most of the bumpf I get from my banks, in other words not much.
