in advance of that date, upon receipt of this agreement

Hi everybody

I'm about to sign a leasing contract and there is a part I'm not sure to understand. It's the following:
"The first payment shall be due on 16 December 2008 and the deposit of £350 in advance of that date, upon receipt of this agreement"
Does this mean that I have to pay the deposit as soon as I receive the agreement/contract? Or when the person receives the agreement? Or at the same time as I pay the first payment?

Thanks for your answers!

I think it means you have to pay the deposit as soon as you receive "this agreement", and before 16 December
