in heavy patches

    Hi! In a section on Crohn's disease in a book I am translating, it says, "The disease occurs in heavy patches, but areas etween these diseased patches are also mildly affected.

    Literally, it would be "en parches pesados", but that doesn't sound right to me. Maybe "zonas de erupciones densas"? Somebody have a better suggestion?

    Thanks. It's sounds like very normal English, but it's one of those things that DOES NOT translate well! I'll pass your idea along to my team members to see how it strikes them.
