in my personal opinion

I'd like to ask native speakers how natural the phrase "in my personal opinion" is. Isn't 'personal' redundant here?
Many thanks.

Yes, personal is redundant. "My personal opinion" is an example of pleonasm, using more words that are necessary; possibly for dramatic or rhetorical effect. However, it is certainly a natural expression and you will often hear native English speakers using it. In fact, it is possible to compound the tautology by speaking of "my own personal opinion"
