I wonder if the following red parts sound natural. If you see any problems, please let me know.

I am currently working for XX as a research engineer in( of ???) the DAC Lab., and I am mainly responsible for the dryer development. ( or developing the dryer??) I am writing this e-mail because I was introduced to you by the regional manager in our New York office.( Or XX introduced me to you??)

  • I am currently working for XX as a research engineer in( of ??? Of would only be used to describe what you are engineering, not where.) the DAC Lab., and I am mainly responsible for the dryer development. ( or developing the dryer?? Both make sense.) I am writing this e-mail because I was introduced to you by the regional manager in our New York office.( Or XX introduced me to you?? Both work, although the first sounds more professional.)

I agree with Toadie, but I would say "dryer development" instead of "developing the dryer" because the first one is more general in my opinion. The second one seems like you are talking about a specific dryer that they have and that the person you are writing to would already be familiar with it.
