In or on the Mini-Mental State Exam?

Senior Member

Again! I need help with the use of English words.

I am a social worker, and most of my clients are senior citizens. Some of them have Dementia.
I conduct the Mini-Mental State Exam(MMSE) on them.
The exam includes 11 sub-categories such as Orientation, and Attention and Calculation.
The whole score of the MMSE is 30 and the whole score of Attention and Calculation is 5.

Today I conducted the Exam on one of my clients, and the client scored 25 out of 30 in/on MMSE with 2 out of 5 in/on Attention and Calculation.

Please, let me help choose the right word in the sentence.

Thank you,

Hello, thelastbattle. In sounds like the right preposition to use: ...and the client scored 25 out of 30 in the MMSE with 2 out of 5 in Attention and Calculation. You could also reasonably use on the MMSE, but I would use in rather than on throughout that sentence.
