Hi, could anyone clarify the following for me?
"In sala di doppiaggio si lavora ad anelli, che sono di tipo una ventina di secondi non di più, e le scene vengono divise in questi anelli"
Anello is a circle or ring, but it doesn't seem to me she is working in a circle here....does she mean in the dubbing room they work on loops of film, which is shown on the editing machine as little windows of not so many seconds in fact...............and the scenes are divided according to these sections or loops...?

I know it's probably too late to reply to this, but anelli are 'takes' in English, meaning the segmentation of the script.

Infatti. Ho letto parte dell'interessante pagina di Wikipedia linkata da Nerino, e i takes, o retakes, sono appunto le volte che l'attore ripete le battute – da qui il nome di looping session per definire la sessione di doppiaggio. Ma i nostri anelli sono le porzioni di dialogo, non le "riprese" audio.

Over the course of multiple re-takes (hence looping) the actor will repeatedly perform the lines while watching the scene, and the most suitable take will make it to the final version of the scene.
