Hello,

"The keys are in the garbage can by the trees in a plastic bag."

This a line from a movie. I wonder if there are other ways to say it. For example:

"The keys are in a plastic bag in the garbage can by the trees."

Does it sound idiomatic? Thanks a lot.

    I agree. Your version sounds better than the original. It doesn't sound idiomatic. It is just a specific description of where something is.
