Ciao a tutti,
I am trying to translate the phrase "in the restaurants" into Italian. The full context - : There is a tendency in the restaurants here to ......
Normally, I might have translated it as nei ristoranti or in ristoranti but I was taught yesterday by my Italian teacher that the normal preposition used with the word "ristorante" is "a", i.e. "al ristorante". I am uncertain therefore whether it is grammatically correct to say "ai ristoranti". My instinct is that perhaps this applies onyl when one is talking about going to a restaurant - e.g Vado al ristorante, but I am uncertain.
Il mio tentativo é -: C'è una tendenza qua in ristoranti .....
Grazie mille.
