Context: "As the dominant determiner of new technology, men define the organizations they create to serve them in their own image."

Organisation Theory:Concepts and Cases By Stephen P. Robbins/Neil Barnwell, page 526.

In the above, can you please elaborate on the meaning/usage of in their own image?

    It's a reference to Genesis 1:27 in The Bible (King James Version):
    So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

    so you would go with this, right?

    ... men define the organizations they create to serve them as they (=men) are, as means to further support their, for example, mentality, vision, and style of management.

    The defining clause in the middle is confusing things.
    Men defined the organizations in their own image. They want the organizations to be like they are.
    Which organizations? The organizations that they created to serve them.
