in there

Hello everyone. The text below, the context of which is that a new heavily mutated Covid-19 variant emerged, describes the mutation of this new variant:

Some of the mutations have been seen before in other variants, which gives some insight their likely role in this variant.
For example N501Y seems to make it easier for a coronavirus to spread. There are others in there that make it harder for antibodies to recognise the virus and might make vaccines less effective, but there are others that are completely new.

My question is does the "in there" in bold has any special meaning in the sentance? Does it indicate that the "others" are mutations which have been seen? Since there is already a there in "There are",the second "there" here seems superabundant for me.

Need help,Thanks!

It’s just a statement highlighting 3 different types of mutation in this new variant.

Some of the mutations have been seen before in other variants, which gives some insight into their likely role in this variant. For example N501Y seems to make it easier for a coronavirus to spread. There are others in there (= in this new variant) that make it harder for antibodies to recognise the virus and might make vaccines less effective, but there are yet others that are completely new.
