1. Would you explain the difference between "inaugural speech/address" and "acceptance speech"?

2. Are they interchangeable?

Thanks.

inaugural speech/inaugural address = a speech given by an elected official (politician) upon taking office (at an inauguration or "swearing-in" ceremony).

acceptance speech = a speech given by someone accepting an award, position or recognition

While a politician can give an acceptance speech, the winner of a prize or award cannot give an inaugural speech. They are not synonyms.

    Hope this helps. Cheers.

I mostly agree with Fenixpollo's good answer, but I would broaden the first part to include appointed as well as elected officials (political), and I would further broaden it to include non-political office holders such as judges and college presidents.
