Following the meal, Tony and Andy head to the jungle to search for another mythic/mysterious beast indigenous/native to PuerRico--the chupacabra.

Are mythic and mysterios both fit here and synonymous with each other?
I presume indigenous and native are interchangeable here, right?
What is a chupacabra? I googled the photos; it can a monkey, a dog, a lizzard....What is it exactly?

Mythic as far as I am aware is not a word that would fit this context. Mythical means of myths and legends (ie not real) so unless they are hunting unicorns I wouldn't use this. Mysterious would be a beast with an air of mystery. I think elusive may be the word you are looking for, if tis beast is hardly ever seen or caught and is highly sought after.

Indigenous and native are interchangeable and both fit here. I have no idea what this animal is - you'll have to ask a Puerto Rican!

Oh my Lord, what book is this from? I want to read it.

A chupacabra is a goat sucker, a vampire animal.

It's a myth, or more correctly, it has not been scientifically identified. It is "found" in Mexico, Nicaragua, Chile, and probably a few other places in the Americas & the Caribbean.

    Just for fun:

    hi, lizzey.
Maybe I have misguided you--it's not a book but an article occasionally mentioning the mythical beast.
