inspired actions

BOnjour,

Less physical offerings may include songs, stories, poetry, prayers, inspired actions, vows, ritual performances, dedicated acts of service, charitable contributions, or any other gesture of beauty, love, and respect.

Merci !

    Gestes ?
Edit - I also wonder if animé(e)s is any better than dictées. I don't see how to make the phrase less clunky, unfortunately.

But those are mentioned separately in your text - "...dedicated acts of service, charitable contributions..."

It's an odd thing to include in the middle of a list like that, when it seems like a category that covers all the other things in the list. I mean, what else is there? I guess interpretive dance isn't explicitly mentioned elsewhere...

Nice idea. An Ngram search for gestes inspirés turns up some convincing examples, such as this one:

How does "inspired actions" sound for natives? What does it mean?

As a native (but not a shaman), I imagine a "ritual performance" would follow an established protocol, such as lighting a candle or beating one's breast. An "inspired action" would be freer and possibly more spontaneous: anything from picking a flower to dancing with wolves?
