The guys enter the karaoke bar. A woman is on stage singing/A woman is on the stage singing/A woman is singing on stage/A woman is singing on the stage. It sounds horrible.

Which one of these four do you prefer? Thanks.
 
  • I don’t have a problem with “A woman is singing on stage,” though lingobingo’s options are a bit more idiomatic. Depending on where I wanted to place the focus, I might also say “On the stage, a woman is singing,” or “A woman on stage is singing.” For style points, I would probably just incorporate the idea into another sentence.
