'Is there any way' to ...?

I encounter the following sentence in toefl listening section as well.

"Is there any way to answer the question definitively?"
Is this grammatically correct? Why not saying " Are there any ways to answer the question definitively"?

    "Is there any way to answer the question definitively?" :tick: If an answer is definitive, it is generally thought to be in some way singular; the most expert or authoritative; the one which defines.
