Isn't discussed a lot

I'm not sure how to work the grammar in the following sentence.

    'Faithfulness isn't discussed a lot'

If you speak of religion, you would probably say - "Faith isn't discussed much/a lot." Faith - that is the word you want, not faithfulness.

If you speak of animal [including humans] loyalty - "Loyaly isn't discussed much"

Machines - "Reliability isn't discussed much"

    Does this help?

It is in terms of fidelity in a relationship, and the sentence is expressing the fact it isn't mentioned much throughout the book.
