There are many opportunities for language learners on the Internet, which was not available then. I´m trying to translate what one Spanish teacher said to her students:

It´s good that you have Internet now. When I was a student, we practiced our Spanish with the professors.
You´re better off because you have Internet now. When I was a student, ....

The teacher was alluding to chat conversations with Spaniards and Latin Americans. Do any of these sentences sound natural?
