Hi all,

Looking for an English buff for some help on this sentence.
Im having difficulty expressing the following thought:

The disease isn't fatal in adults, but it can be mortal (when it comes to/in regards to/when it affects) children.

I think perhaps "when it affects" sounds best, but it is a little too formal for my purposes (it is a translation).
What sounds best? Any other options you can think of?
Can you please provide some input? Thanks!!

For discussion of fatal/mortal please go to
but it can be < fatal, mortal> in children.
