I don't know which phrase is correct or both are correct.

- It didn't take long for me to find out what was going on.

VS

It didn't take me long to find out what was going on.

I agree that both are correct and both have the same meaning. I suppose a similar pair could be created in Spanish.

No me tomó mucho tiempo descubrir qué estaba pasando.
No tardé [mucho] en descubrir qué estaba pasando.
