I read in a book that say "It was unable for us to determine whether it was true."

Should it not be "we were unable to determine whether it was true"?

I have never heard any one say "It is unable for....."

Thank you. Based on your first post, you should write the next book, not Mr. Park.

You're correct; Mr. Park is very awkward.
