Hello,

I have a problem translating "it takes a real roll, being so far from Andrea"

Could you give me alternative to translate "it takes a real roll"

Maybe: Es difícil para él, estar lejos de Andrea.

THANKS,

ANNY

    Hi

I've never heard of "it takes a real roll" in BE.
Your translation captures the intent of the phrase however - so I think you can use it with confidence.

    Cheers

Maybe because of that I 've not found the translation.
I had read it in the book "Headway, the third edition.

It's about expatriate tales and Ian Walter-Smith who came from Crewe, England, said that.

    Anyway,

    Thanks

Hmmm, it's probably an obsolete phrase. But NealMc's right- you can probably just go with your original guess. Makes sense.
