Bonjour!

Voici le texte d´origine. tiré d´un disous pour une conférence:

Our life is touched by something that underlies us and that continuous publicity gives us a preview of.

Ma proposition:
Notre vie est touchée par quelque chose qui nous afecte et dont la publicité constante nous donne un avant-goût.

Etes-vous de mon avis?

A very unstylish, even clumsy, sentence, under the best of interpretations. Context would help, just ...

    voici le paragraphe de contexte:

Today, whatever we may desire, the market will provide. Our life is touched by something that underlies us and that continuous publicity gives us a preview of: “have everything according to your desires”. As consequence, Western society, today, is divided in millions of individuals.

    Merci!

The surrounding context is a very sickening, and sick, passage from some advertising propagandist. In this context, the thread phrase is totally incoherent -- I have no idea what "our life is touched by something that underlies us" (and so is fundamental (???), but which can be brought within our cognizance by continuous publicity ???) can possibly mean. It is gibberish.
